Senior Accountant

About the role

SpotterLabs is looking for a Senior Accountant to anchor financial integrity and drive system transformation. This full‑time remote position will support the company through an active audit, a major software migration, and ongoing process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead lease accounting (ASC 842) by reviewing contracts, managing Right‑of‑Use assets and lease liabilities, and ensuring audit‑ready documentation.
• Oversee fixed‑asset accounting, enforce capitalization policies, manage disposals, and maintain the asset register.
• Provide a second line of defense by reviewing complex transactions, contracts, and financing arrangements for correct US GAAP treatment.
• Partner with leadership on month‑end close, accrual methodology, cut‑off procedures, and reduction of manual adjustments.
• Establish elevated balance‑sheet reconciliation standards, design stronger review controls, and assign clear ownership.
• Prepare detailed audit schedules, reports, and technical documentation for internal and external auditors.
• Actively contribute to the upcoming software migration and workflow redesign.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with US GAAP and controllership in a fast‑growing environment.
• Proven ability to exercise deep accounting judgment and deliver audit‑ready work.
• Strong communication skills to partner directly with senior leadership.
