Senior Accountant – Mexico

About the role

MTech Systems is looking for a highly motivated Senior Accountant to support the day‑to‑day accounting and finance operations of its Mexico entity. Reporting to the FinOps Manager (US), the role works closely with local payroll, tax and accounting service providers as well as global finance stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and review end‑to‑end payroll processing, ensuring accurate calculations, employee changes, bonuses, vacation accruals and statutory benefits.
• Support payroll tax compliance, social security (IMSS), INFONAVIT and other employer obligations, and record related journal entries and reconciliations.
• Process vendor invoices and employee expense reimbursements, maintain vendor records, prepare payment schedules and assist cash‑management activities.
• Prepare and post journal entries for payroll, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, revenue recognition and other accounting transactions.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations, balance‑sheet reviews and support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities.
• Assist in preparing financial statements, management reports and ensure compliance with Mexican accounting, tax and labor regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in payroll administration, accounts payable, tax and statutory compliance, month‑end close, journal entries, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of Mexican accounting standards, tax regulations and labor laws.
• Ability to work collaboratively with local service providers and global finance teams.
• Detail‑oriented, organized and capable of handling multiple responsibilities in a fast‑growing environment.
