Senior Auditor – Internal Audit (Risk & Controls)

About the role

The Senior Auditor will lead moderately complex internal audits of Citi's risk and control environment, primarily within Banamex operations in Mexico. The role combines hands‑on audit execution with the development of improved audit techniques and automated processes, supporting the organization’s business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute moderately complex audits, including drafting detailed audit reports.
• Present audit findings to business units and discuss practical, cross‑functional solutions.
• Complete assigned audits within defined timeframes and budgets.
• Monitor emerging risks, assess their impact, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit processes, including automation of routine tasks.
• Apply internal audit standards, policies, and regulations to provide timely assurance.
• Develop strong relationships with line management to ensure deep business understanding.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of relevant internal audit experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Effective verbal and written communication in English (intermediate level) and Spanish.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Willingness to travel frequently across metropolitan areas and other regions of Mexico.

Required skills

• Data‑analysis tools such as SQL.
• Data‑visualisation tools such as Tableau.
• Proficiency with audit technology applications.
