Senior Corporate Counsel – Labor & Employment

About the role

Caterpillar is seeking an experienced Senior Corporate Counsel to provide expert legal guidance on labor and employment matters for its operations across Mexico. This senior position supports the global Human Resources strategy for a workforce of over 100,000 employees worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver legal counsel on a wide range of labor and employment issues.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with HR, business leaders, and legal colleagues globally.
• Collaborate to provide strategic advice and drive outcomes in complex, sensitive matters.
• Manage disputes from claim through litigation, including oversight of external counsel.
• Identify legal risks, monitor developments, and advise on policy implementation.
• Design and deliver legal training based on risk assessments and strategic objectives.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with unrestricted right to practice law in-house in Mexico.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
• Extensive experience in Mexican employment and labor law, either in a large law firm or corporate setting.
• Proven ability to interact effectively with senior managers and external counsel.
• Strong business acumen and risk‑management knowledge.
