Senior Counsel – Latin America (LATAM)

About the role

The Senior Counsel – Latin America provides comprehensive legal support to the company’s operations across multiple Spanish‑speaking markets (excluding Brazil). Reporting to the Legal Director – LatAm, the role acts as the primary legal business partner for assigned countries, delivering strategic and operational advice that enables growth while managing legal and regulatory risk.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main legal advisor for assigned Latin American countries, offering timely, pragmatic guidance on commercial initiatives, risk assessments, and operational issues.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including distribution, agency, services, consulting, marketing, vendor, supply, logistics and outsourcing contracts, ensuring compliance with local laws and internal policies.
• Review packaging, labeling, advertising and digital marketing campaigns for legal and regulatory compliance, advising marketing and commercial teams on consumer‑protection and competition rules.
• Provide pre‑litigation risk assessments, support dispute resolution and coordinate with external counsel and regulatory authorities as needed.
• Handle regulatory and compliance matters such as anti‑corruption, data privacy, and labor/employment issues, working closely with regional and global legal teams.
• Develop and maintain contract templates, clause libraries and playbooks to promote consistency across the region.

Required profile

• Extensive experience as a practicing lawyer in one or more Spanish‑speaking Latin American jurisdictions (excluding Brazil).
• Proven ability to work autonomously and partner with senior business and functional leaders.
• Strong understanding of commercial contracting, marketing compliance, dispute management, and regulatory frameworks in the region.
• Fluent in Spanish and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
