About the role

Fusemachines is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain high‑performance data solutions that support AI‑driven initiatives for global clients. The role is fully remote and focuses on end‑to‑end data lifecycle management, from ingestion to business intelligence.

Key responsibilities

Architect and implement scalable batch and real‑time data pipelines on major cloud platforms.
Design data models (3NF, star, snowflake) and lakehouse/warehouse architectures.
Develop and optimise ETL/ELT processes using dbt, Airflow, Dagster or native cloud orchestrators.
Integrate diverse data sources including APIs, RDBMS/NoSQL, flat files, Kafka, Kinesis and Pub/Sub.
Implement data governance, quality, lineage and observability practices.
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts and engineering teams to deliver reliable data products.

Required profile

5+ years of hands‑on data engineering experience in production environments.
Deep expertise in at least one cloud data ecosystem (AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake or Databricks).
Strong proficiency in Python, SQL and PySpark/Apache Spark.
Proven experience with data modelling and lakehouse/warehouse design.
Solid understanding of SDLC, Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
