Senior Procurement Professional

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY MEXICO, S.A. DE C.V. is looking for a Senior Procurement Professional (P3) in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. The role covers strategic sourcing and project procurement, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts and keeping project costs, schedules and supply quality on track. It is full time, with a hybrid model of two days per week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Manage or perform strategic sourcing to control risk and optimise the value and resilience of materials and services, including supplier relationship management and continuous improvement programs.
• Negotiate contracts and coordinate supplier integration plans with internal clients, and monitor market dynamics affecting availability and pricing.
• Plan and execute procurement activities for projects to meet cost/budget, schedule and supply quality objectives.
• Act as main interface with the Project Manager, project team and category teams on all supply chain matters, and follow project procurement procedures.
• Help set project-specific terms and conditions and negotiate purchase orders, including payment terms, delivery, pricing and conditions.
• Monitor procurement status, resolve issues on cost, quality and delivery, and ensure RFQs follow the sourcing strategy.
• Ensure cost reduction and budget savings targets are met, and that purchase orders are accurate, approved and released on time.
• Manage supplier relationships with regional and global category teams, and comply with external and internal regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in procurement within a project-based environment.
• Advanced English proficiency, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Experience with SAP ERP (MM module) is highly desirable.
• Ability to manage projects and processes independently with limited supervision, and to coach and review the work of lower-level professionals.
