Senior Project Manager - Aviation Technology

About the role

A global aviation technology company that supplies mission-critical software to airlines is hiring a Senior Project Manager in Guadalajara, Mexico. The role leads complex, cross-functional software initiatives and coordinates product, engineering, architecture, QA, DevOps, security, operations and business teams across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery from planning and estimation through implementation, release and post-production stabilization.
• Define scope, objectives, milestones, dependencies, delivery plans and success criteria.
• Coordinate distributed teams and set up governance, reporting, decision-making and escalation processes.
• Manage schedules, budgets, resources, risks, issues and dependencies; maintain realistic delivery forecasts.
• Drive release readiness, including quality validation, operational preparation and deployment planning.
• Ensure security, regulatory, architectural and non-functional requirements are included in delivery plans.
• Support Agile planning and execution, identify bottlenecks and promote continuous improvement through metrics and retrospectives.
• Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders and act as the accountable point for project outcomes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience managing complex enterprise software-development projects.
• Demonstrated success delivering cloud platforms, SaaS products, APIs, integrations or distributed systems.
• Experience coordinating globally distributed, multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong project governance, financial tracking, resource planning, risk management and executive reporting capabilities.
• Professional fluency in English.

Required skills

• Software development lifecycle, Agile practices, release management and production readiness.
• Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps or equivalent delivery-management tools.
• Nice to have: airline or travel technology experience, knowledge of NDC, ONE Order, offer and order management, AWS-based cloud-native platforms, API-first architectures, microservices and event-driven systems, and certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe or Scrum.
