Senior Retail Designer

About the role

Gensler is seeking a Senior Retail Designer to lead creative efforts on retail projects. You will combine artistic vision with technical expertise to deliver beautiful, functional spaces while mentoring junior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design concepts from programming through construction administration.
• Produce mood boards, material palettes, and design presentations with minimal supervision.
• Develop furniture plans, specifications, and schedules for construction documentation.
• Participate in client and consultant meetings and communicate ideas through hand sketches and digital graphics.
• Mentor junior designers across all project phases.
• Integrate sustainability goals and impact assessments into design solutions.
• Utilize Gensler’s IP tools (GBlox, GFloorz, GPlanet) and digital transformation workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
• Significant experience leading retail design projects.
• Strong understanding of materials, finishes, custom furniture, and lighting solutions.
• Ability to balance creativity with business and client objectives.
