Sourcing Quality Manager – Food & Consumables

About the role

The Sourcing Quality Manager will work within the global Sourcing Quality team to ensure safe, high‑quality packaged food items for Walmart’s private‑brand portfolio. Based in Mexico City, the role collaborates with suppliers and business partners across Mexico, the United States and other international markets throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Vet and qualify potential suppliers to meet Walmart quality standards.
• Onboard new suppliers into Walmart’s quality systems and processes.
• Evaluate private‑brand items to confirm compliance with specifications.
• Partner with suppliers and cross‑functional teams during commercialization and throughout the product lifecycle.
• Manage product quality issues, initiate CAPA actions, and work with suppliers to resolve problems.
• Conduct supplier site visits and facility tours as needed.
• Support multiple market teams and build relationships with global stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related scientific, agricultural or hospitality field.
• Experience in Quality Assurance within food or consumable manufacturing.
• Hands‑on experience with packaged foods such as pantry dry goods, canned or frozen products.
• Familiarity with the CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) process.
• Strong communication, organization and teamwork skills, with flexibility to work across time zones.
