Sr Java Developer

About the role

Epicor is seeking a senior engineer to design, build, and operate a modern Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) platform. This full‑stack position offers end‑to‑end ownership of features, production support, and close collaboration with customer‑facing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full‑stack features across front‑end, back‑end, and micro‑services.
• Own production incidents, perform root‑cause analysis across applications, queues, databases, and infrastructure.
• Trace data points on reports back to source and explain them to customers in clear language.
• Communicate effectively across distributed teams using async updates, tickets, documentation, and runbooks.
• Contribute to AI agents and guardrails for trustworthy financial data, including response streaming and human‑in‑the‑loop confirmations.
• Help shape engineering standards, architecture, and collaboration practices.

Required profile

• 8+ years of commercial back‑end or full‑stack development experience.
• Strong background in modern Java and the Spring ecosystem.
• Experience with Kotlin and front‑end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Typescript.
• Hands‑on knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases, APIs, messaging, integrations, and cloud‑hosted applications.
• Solid engineering fundamentals: clean code, design patterns, testing, and judgment across monoliths and micro‑services.
• Ability to read and reason about financial statements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
