Strategic Sourcing Project Manager

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Project Manager to lead and coordinate high‑impact procurement initiatives across Direct and Indirect Sourcing. The role partners with Procurement leadership, finance, and cross‑functional teams to ensure projects are planned, executed, and communicated effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of strategic procurement and sourcing projects, focusing on Indirect Procurement.
• Coordinate Sourcing Councils, prepare agendas, track action items, and follow up with stakeholders.
• Drive project planning, timelines, milestones, risk management, and execution to meet business priorities.
• Track project spend, savings, budgets, forecasts, and perform variance analysis for executive reporting.
• Develop and improve project governance, dashboards, and reporting tools to support decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Project Management or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Approximately 10 years of experience in project/program management, preferably within Procurement, Indirect Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Finance.
• Project Management certification (PMP, PMI) preferred.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in spend tracking, savings reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Proven ability to work with senior leaders and influence without authority.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Smartsheet.
• Experience using MS Project.
• Ability to create reports and visualisations in Power BI.
• Familiarity with Tableau.
• Advanced Excel skills.
