Tax Specialist

About the role

Schaeffler Mexico is seeking an experienced Tax Specialist to lead tax compliance and advisory activities across the organization. You will ensure accurate filing of VAT and income tax obligations, manage relationships with tax authorities, and support audit processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, review, and timely filing of VAT and income tax advance payments.
• Manage interactions with tax authorities, support audit processes, and respond to inquiries.
• Ensure timely fulfillment of information requests from external auditors.
• Maintain compliance with electronic invoicing (CFDI) and other digital tax obligations, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
• Prepare, review, and submit tax refund claims with complete documentation.
• Support the preparation of the annual income tax return and related schedules.
• Handle SIPRED filing and documentation for external audits.
• Provide support for deferred tax calculation and analysis.
• Apply deep knowledge of Mexican income tax law, especially for cross‑border transactions.
• Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, controls, and documentation.
• Serve as the primary tax contact for Accounting, Legal, Purchasing, and Controlling departments.
• Mentor junior team members and clearly communicate risks and priorities.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in Accounting.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in tax compliance or related roles.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
• Experience in IMMEX‑certified companies is preferred.
