Telematics Technician – Installation & Support

About the role

The Telematics Technician installs and supports telematics trackers on a wide range of equipment across North America. The role combines hands‑on field work, training of local teams, and collaboration with OEMs to ensure seamless integration of telematics solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure telematics systems on diverse equipment and locations.
• Partner with OEMs to integrate telematics solutions at factory sites for new assets.
• Train local personnel, develop guides, checklists, and training materials.
• Provide feedback to improve installation procedures, tools, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and integration issues.
• Travel to workshops and OEM sites (up to 75% of time) to support deployments.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align technical and operational requirements.
• Support additional workshops, technical projects, and documentation initiatives as needed.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of telematics hardware, automotive electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and vehicle power architectures.
• Practical hands‑on skills with equipment, wiring, and electronics in workshop and field environments.
• Ability to teach and guide local teams toward independent installations.
• Analytical mindset for problem‑solving and process improvement.
• Clear communication and effective collaboration with internal teams and OEM partners.
• Excellent project and time‑management capabilities.
• Willingness to travel frequently and adapt to varied work settings.
