Trade & Transport Specialist – Import Operations

About the role

As a Trade & Transport Specialist focusing on imports, you will ensure the smooth execution of all import activities for ABB’s Electrification Business in Apodaca, Nuevo León. You will act as the main liaison with customs brokers and guarantee compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customs brokers, clarifying valuation, classification and other import queries.
• Audit customs brokers’ entries, invoicing and archiving to ensure accuracy.
• Supervise the performance of customs brokers on a daily basis.
• Prepare and manage all required documentation and online forms for cost‑effective and lawful import operations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of import/export laws, tariffs, duties, licences and restrictions and share this information with colleagues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Commerce, Logistics or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, transportation or import activities.
• Experience with the IMMEX program and customs operations, including regularisations and regime changes.
• Intermediate English proficiency.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP (preferred).
• Intermediate to advanced Excel for logistics data analysis and reporting.
