Underwriting Specialist

About the role

Nuvei is seeking a detail‑oriented Underwriting Specialist to join its global underwriting team. Reporting to the Underwriting Director, you will help onboard new clients quickly while ensuring compliance with KYC and due‑diligence standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with client onboarding and apply KYC/due‑diligence procedures.
• Monitor business activities to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Analyze and assess online business models.
• Liaise with banking authorities, regulators, and financial institutions.
• Communicate with internal teams and customers on compliance matters.
• Coordinate work with the global underwriting team.
• Conduct research and perform ad‑hoc tasks as needed.
• Generate and update documentation, including communication and scheme updates.
• Advise management on status, issues, risks, and change requests related to card‑scheme initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (mandatory).
• Strong understanding of compliance rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of card schemes and payment processing (desired).
• Familiarity with AML/KYC regulatory requirements (desired).
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Excellent time‑management, organizational, and analytical abilities.
• High attention to detail and stress resilience.
• Ability to work independently without supervision.
