Workcell Manager

About the role

Jabil, a manufacturer of engineering, supply chain and manufacturing solutions, is hiring a Workcell Manager in Monterrey. The role drives continuous improvement in operational metrics while maximizing profitability within the business unit, leads the team to exceed customer expectations and provides support to customers, team members and shareholders.

Key responsibilities

• Recruitment and retention: identify staffing needs (MEs, QEs, TEs, IEs), communicate them to Functional Managers, and improve team turnover.
• Employee and team development: coach and mentor team members daily, set measurable goals and provide ongoing feedback.
• Performance management: drive continuous improvement in operational metrics and customer goals, coordinate large teams during crises and recommend fair recognition and rewards.
• Communication: act as the link between the Business Unit and Operations Unit, organize ideas clearly and adapt communication style to each team member.
• Strategy and direction: define and implement a customer/workcell strategy aligned with campus strategic directions and report progress regularly.
• Cost management: help develop the monthly business unit forecast, streamline processes and reduce costs, and report cost trends to managers.
• Forecast accuracy: prepare timely forecasts, compare them with historical results and communicate variances to managers and the team.
• Technical management: train teams on metrics-based management, drive continuous improvement through trend analysis, ensure procedures are efficient and share best practices across Jabil facilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree preferred, with five years of experience and one year in a supervisory role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, analyze and communicate on scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents, and to handle customer and regulatory inquiries.
• Ability to present information to top management, public groups and boards of directors.

Required skills

• Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil's software packages.
