Yucateco Dialect Specialist – Freelance AI Trainer

About the role

We are seeking a native‑level Yucateco language specialist to help train large‑scale AI models. As a freelance AI trainer you will provide high‑quality linguistic data that enables the models to understand and generate Yucateco with accuracy, supporting education, research and communication tools worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Interact with language models on a variety of linguistic scenarios, focusing on verb conjugation, case systems, word order, declensions, gender and stylistic variation.
• Identify and document model failures, capturing reproducible error traces and suggesting improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics.
• Validate factual and logical correctness of model outputs and provide clear, step‑by‑step explanations.
• Collaborate remotely with the data‑annotation team to refine training datasets.

Required profile

• Native‑level fluency in Yucateco with deep knowledge of its grammar, syntax, morphology, phonology, semantics and pragmatics.
• Bachelor’s degree in Yucateco language, linguistics or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in teaching, translation or community linguistic projects.
• Strong metacognitive communication skills, able to “show your work” clearly.

Required skills

• Expertise in Yucateco linguistic structures.
• Experience evaluating and annotating language data for AI systems.
