Design Engineer V – Flammability Specialist

About the role

The Design Engineer V will support flammability compliance for Gulfstream products, delivering 3D and 2D engineering deliverables and ensuring schedules are met. This position is based at Gulfstream Aerospace in Mexicali and involves extensive coordination across design, analysis, and release processes.

Key responsibilities

• Research and analyze engineering data to solve low‑ to high‑complexity problems.
• Provide custom engineering support throughout the product release process.
• Develop and maintain 3D (CATIA V5) and 2D (AutoCAD) drawings, material callouts, seating specifications, placards, and exterior markings.
• Define and implement engineering changes required to meet flammability requirements (14 CFR Part 25).
• Coordinate with manufacturing and installation teams to ensure design criteria are met.
• Maintain schedules, prioritize tasks, and deliver required documentation on time.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or Master’s degree with 7 years experience).
• Minimum 9 years of relevant engineering experience (or 7 years with a Master’s).
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Strong prioritization, self‑driven attitude, and flexibility to support team needs.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% as required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of flammability requirements per 14 CFR Part 25.
• Proficiency in CATIA V5 for 3D design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D design.
• Experience creating engineering drawings, material callouts, and specifications.
• Solid engineering analysis and problem‑solving abilities.
