English Teacher (Grade 8)

About the role

The American Institute of Monterrey (AIM) seeks an enthusiastic English Teacher for Grade 8. You will join a vibrant, bilingual community delivering a U.S.-accredited curriculum to students aged 2‑18.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for Grade 8 students, aligning with the school’s curriculum and external assessment requirements.
• Individualise and differentiate instruction to ensure each learner is challenged, supported and makes outstanding progress.
• Assess student work regularly, both in‑class and at home, and provide targeted feedback to drive improvement.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued and are encouraged to take learning risks.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, share best practices and contribute to the school’s professional learning community.
• Participate in co‑curricular activities, lead clubs or support whole‑school initiatives to enrich the student experience.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience teaching English at the secondary level, preferably in an international or bilingual setting.
• Strong commitment to student wellbeing and academic excellence.
• Creative, adaptable and able to inspire learners.
• Willingness to engage in continuous professional development.
