HTML Email Developer

About the role

The HTML Email Developer will act as the technical partner for the Email Creative team, turning visual concepts into clean, responsive email code that renders consistently across clients and devices. You will collaborate closely with Marketing Designers and Associate Graphic Designers to ensure high‑quality, accessible, and performant email campaigns.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain responsive HTML email templates using table‑based layouts and inline CSS.
• Review, optimise and refactor existing email code for performance, accessibility and deliverability.
• Partner with designers to convert Figma hand‑offs into production‑ready HTML and troubleshoot rendering issues.
• Implement dynamic content such as personalization or countdown timers, ensuring graceful fallback.
• Define, document and enforce HTML email standards, reusable modules and best practices.
• Support onboarding of new team members with technical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, Computer Science, Digital Media, Graphic Design or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience coding HTML emails for marketing or promotional campaigns.
• Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced environment alongside designers and marketing teams.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in HTML for email (table‑based layouts, inline CSS).
• Working knowledge of CSS as applied to email clients.
• Experience troubleshooting cross‑client rendering issues and applying responsive, mobile‑first techniques.
• Understanding of email accessibility standards (semantic structure, readable layouts).
• Familiarity with design hand‑offs from Figma.
• Experience with dynamic content tools such as Movable Ink (plus).
• Knowledge of project‑management tools like Workfront (preferred).
