Internal Audit Specialist

About the role

As an Internal Audit Specialist you will build on your accounting and audit experience while gaining exposure to a fast‑paced, international business. The role focuses on evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of Carrier’s internal control framework to manage and mitigate risk.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the execution of risk‑based internal audits across Carrier business units.
• Assess risks of key business processes and help develop audit plans and detailed audit programs.
• Create process maps of significant financial, business, and operational processes to identify control gaps.
• Prepare clear, concise audit reports and present findings, conclusions, and recommendations to management.
• Support special projects related to internal audit quality and continuous improvement.
• Perform Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) reviews and coordinate with external auditors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years experience in public accounting (Big 4 or regional firm) and/or internal audit, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, organizational and project‑management abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, with proven presentation capability.
• Valid visa and willingness to travel within the Americas (~25% of time).

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of internal controls and U.S. GAAP accounting standards.
• Experience with Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) testing and coordination with external auditors.
• Process‑mapping techniques for financial and operational workflows.
