Procurement Specialist – Direct Materials Purchasing

About the role

QST Solutions is seeking a Procurement Specialist to lead direct‑material purchasing activities for its automotive sensor production lines. The role focuses on creating sourcing strategies, driving cost‑saving initiatives, and ensuring supply‑chain performance while managing financial risks with suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and follow up on purchase orders.
• Resolve invoice price discrepancies.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with cost‑reduction goals.
• Analyze supply‑chain data to identify potential financial risks.
• Lead cost‑saving projects such as negotiations, value engineering, and value analysis.
• Support Materials Planning during critical supply escalations.
• Measure and improve supplier performance using scorecards.
• Drive supplier development and implement Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs.
• Maintain accurate vendor information in the ERP system.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent experience in buying, commodity, or sourcing roles.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement or similar functions.
• Fluent spoken English.
• Strong negotiation abilities and a customer‑service mindset.
• Team‑oriented, self‑driven, and responsible.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
