Senior Backend Engineer – AdTech Platform

About the role

AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to help build a next‑generation advertising platform. You will work on scalable backend systems, real‑time data processing, and distributed architectures using modern cloud technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and evolve core services for the Ads platform.
• Design APIs for campaign management, targeting, delivery, attribution, and reporting.
• Build high‑throughput, low‑latency pipelines that process large volumes of events.
• Own end‑to‑end system lifecycle: design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Drive architectural decisions, establish scalable patterns, and ensure reliability.
• Collaborate with product, data, and partner teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews, mentorship, and documentation.
• Participate in hiring and help grow a high‑performing engineering team.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of software development experience building scalable backend systems.
• Proven experience in the AdTech domain, including DSPs, SSPs, and ad exchanges.
• Strong understanding of computer‑science fundamentals such as algorithms, data structures, networking, and databases.
• Demonstrated ability to design and scale distributed systems with a focus on performance, observability, and fault tolerance.
• Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
