Staff Accountant – International Accounting

About the role

The Staff Accountant will join Aragon Chemical’s International Accounting team in Mexico City, reporting to the Manager, International Accounting. This full‑time, on‑site position supports daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, invoice processing, vendor management and month‑end close, while working closely with the Finance team. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, review and file vendor invoices; enter COGS and operating expense invoices into the accounting system.
• Apply cost allocations across ventures, purchase orders or cost centers as instructed.
• Assist with weekly payment runs, prepare payment lists, initiate electronic payments and maintain payment records.
• Review customs entry summaries, reconcile duties and fees, and flag discrepancies.
• Record journal entries, perform account and bank reconciliations, and ensure consistency of AP data for COGS reporting.
• Onboard new vendors, collect tax and banking documentation, and set up records.
• Process employee expense reports and support AR inquiries as directed.
• Provide assistance for budgeting, audits, tax preparation and financial planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Experience in accounts payable, invoice processing and month‑end close.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with multiple international entities.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Knowledge of customs entry and import compliance processes.
• Ability to perform journal entries and bank reconciliations.
