Systems Engineer III

About the role

IGT is seeking a Systems Engineer III to design, configure, and support operating systems, hardware, and software for internal and external customers. The role involves ensuring reliable web‑infrastructure services and providing third‑level mission‑critical support.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, deploy, maintain and troubleshoot Red Hat Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Manage web‑facing load balancers, databases (IBM DB2, Oracle, MySQL), and virtualisation platforms (VMware ESXi, vSphere).
• Administer SAN storage solutions (NetApp, IBM Enterprise Storage) and directory services (OpenLDAP/SSSD).
• Implement configuration management using tools such as Puppet and Ansible.
• Provide on‑call third‑level support and implement real‑time critical solutions.
• Participate in product team meetings representing System Support Engineering.
• Develop and review training materials and manage change‑control procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 2–6 years of hands‑on system administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of LAN networking, Internet protocols and multi‑tiered web applications.
• Ability to travel when required and work independently.

Required skills

• Red Hat Linux and Windows Server administration.

• Load balancers (Coyote Point, F5, A10).
• Database platforms: IBM DB2, Oracle, MySQL.
• SMTP (Exim, Postfix), DNS (BIND).
• Web servers: Apache, JBoss, Tomcat.
• Squid proxy.
• Scripting languages: Bash, Python, Java, Ruby.
