Associate Engineer

About the role

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Associate Engineer to support the design, implementation and continuous improvement of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems on heavy‑machine assembly lines. The role focuses on ensuring product quality, operational efficiency and rapid problem resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in optimal assembly‑line operation, including hot testing, fluid fills, road tests, reworks and final adjustments.
• Identify root causes of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic malfunctions and implement quick fixes.
• Collaborate with remote engineering teams to improve assembly systems and guarantee equipment quality.
• Maintain and validate assembly‑line equipment, performing quarterly and yearly recalibrations.
• Participate in the adoption of new technologies such as automation, robotics and computer‑aided manufacturing software.
• Plan and refine engineering procedures to enhance reliability, efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
• Work with marketing, purchasing and manufacturing to deliver design solutions that meet customer and dealer requirements.

Required profile
