Design Engineer – Fuel Tanks & Systems

About the role

The Design Release Engineer will lead the design, development and production release of fuel and urea tanks and their delivery modules for automotive applications. You will work within the Fuels Systems team to ensure high‑quality, lightweight and cost‑effective solutions while supporting vehicle program schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop fuel and urea tanks, delivery modules and related components.
• Manage APQP activities and drive production release of systems.
• Lead quality improvement, value optimization, weight reduction and efficiency initiatives.
• Communicate technical status to management and cross‑functional teams.
• Collaborate with suppliers, vehicle program teams, testing labs, CAE engineers, manufacturing plants and other internal groups.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering.
• 2‑4 years of automotive design/development experience in fuel systems or UREA, or equivalent internship experience.
• Strong problem‑solving, leadership and communication abilities.
• Experience with injection‑molded or blow‑molded tank design and fuel‑tank virtual simulations (preferred).
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%.
