General Accountant

About the role

The General Accountant will support monthly closing, internal controls, and financial reporting for SFMS. This role collaborates with business units to provide forecasting, analysis, and process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with month‑end close of the general ledger, including account reconciliations and corporate webform submissions.
• Prepare and submit journal entries for revenue, expense, cash, accounts receivable, intercompany, accounts payable, accruals, and equity.
• Analyze cost‑center spend, identify variances to budget, and review findings with cost‑center owners monthly.
• Develop monthly forecasts for cost‑center spend and international forecasts.
• Provide business‑unit support for forecasting and financial reporting.
• Establish, maintain, and coordinate accounting control procedures.
• Participate in SOX testing processes.
• Analyze key performance indicators across revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and capital expenditures.
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience in a public company.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting standards.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Effective interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Motivated, fast learner, capable of working independently.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
