New Product Introduction Engineer

About the role

QST Solutions is seeking a New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer to lead the transition of new automotive sensor products from design to full‑scale manufacturing. You will ensure that equipment, processes, tooling and documentation are validated, optimized and ready for high‑quality production.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and coordinate detailed project plans aligned with program timelines for equipment, process and tooling development.
• Define requirements, support supplier quotation and selection, review designs and lead internal and external build and validation activities.
• Plan and execute engineering builds, prototype, Process Validation (PV) builds, Run‑at‑Rate trials and other pre‑production activities.
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation such as process flow diagrams, PFMEA, control plans and work instructions.
• Ensure new equipment and processes meet plant standards and integrate with production, quality, maintenance and information systems.
• Participate in project meetings with program managers, cross‑functional teams and customers, providing status updates and technical support.
• Prepare weekly project status reports highlighting progress, risks and corrective actions.
• Lead engineering and product introduction projects when no program manager is assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechatronics engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years experience in New Product Introduction, Manufacturing Engineering or Process Engineering.
• Proven experience managing product launches from prototype through production.
• Knowledge of manufacturing process development, equipment validation, tooling design and process optimization.
• Working knowledge of APQP and Core Tools (PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, MSA, SPC).
• Experience with engineering documentation and work instructions.
