PHP Developer – Legacy Modernization & Microservices

About the role

We are looking for an experienced PHP Developer to join a high‑performing engineering pod. You will sustain existing enterprise platforms while driving the transformation of legacy code into modern, cost‑effective microservices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the migration of legacy backend code to maintainable, scalable frameworks.
• Design, build, and deploy reusable PHP modules for new products and features.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and optimise cloud hosting costs.
• Utilise AI‑assisted development tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot to accelerate delivery.
• Collaborate with fellow developers and product owners, providing regular updates and following best practices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of commercial PHP development experience.
• Strong understanding of OOP, MVC architecture and design patterns.
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and AJAX.
• Experience with relational databases, migrations, RESTful APIs and Git version control.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted coding tools to improve workflow efficiency.
• Self‑driven mindset with strategic thinking and excellent communication skills.
