Senior Design Engineer – 1st Shift – On‑site

About the role

Collins Aerospace is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join its high‑impact engineering team in Mexicali. The position focuses on the design and validation of safety‑critical aerospace structures such as nacelles, thrust reversers, inlets, and fan cowls for commercial and business jets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead root‑cause analysis and implement engineering solutions for complex technical problems.
• Review and validate engineering deliverables against standards, customer specifications, and company procedures.
• Manage medium‑scale engineering projects, coordinating schedules, resources, and cross‑functional teams.
• Support operations and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
• Conduct RCCA activities to investigate and resolve technical and quality issues.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to maintain design consistency and best practices.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive continuous improvement, risk mitigation, and process optimization.
• Travel up to 20% as required.

Required profile

• STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics).
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in product design and development.
• Proven experience creating and modifying 3D models and assemblies for structural components.
• Strong knowledge of engineering standards, design requirements, and quality procedures.
