Senior Design Engineer – Aerospace Structures

About the role

Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join its high‑impact engineering team in Mexicali, Mexico. The role focuses on the design and validation of safety‑critical aerospace components such as nacelles, thrust reversers, inlets, engine build‑up systems and fan cowls for commercial and business jets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead root‑cause analysis of complex technical problems and implement effective engineering solutions.
• Review and validate engineering deliverables against standards, design requirements and customer specifications.
• Manage medium‑scale projects, coordinating schedules, resources and cross‑functional teams.
• Support operations and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
• Conduct RCCA activities and recommend corrective and preventive actions for quality issues.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to maintain design consistency and best practices.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive continuous improvement, risk mitigation and process optimisation throughout the product lifecycle.
• Travel up to 20 % as required.

Required profile

• STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics).
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in product design and development.
• Proven experience creating and modifying 3D models and assemblies for structural components.
• Experience with aerospace‑industry design standards and quality procedures.

• CATIA (3D modelling and assembly design).
