Senior Mobile/Web Developer

About the role

LoJack, a leader in vehicle recovery, is looking for a Senior Mobile/Web Developer to join its Mexico City team. You will build a cross‑platform installer application that combines a Next.js web UI with a native Capacitor shell for iOS and Android, delivering offline‑first experiences and BLE connectivity.

Key responsibilities

• Design and ship a hybrid installer app using Next.js (React + TypeScript) inside Capacitor WebView/WKWebView.
• Develop and maintain a Capacitor plugin for Bluetooth Low Energy on both iOS (Swift/Obj‑C) and Android (Kotlin/Java).
• Implement encrypted local storage, service‑worker caching, background sync, and resilient queueing.
• Integrate camera‑based QR/barcode scanning and job documentation workflows.
• Connect the app to backend services and Salesforce APIs.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines, testing on real devices, and ensure App Store/Google Play compliance.

Required profile

• At least 4 years of professional experience delivering scalable mobile or web solutions.
• Proven ability to translate product requirements into technical designs.
• Strong understanding of PWA fundamentals and offline‑first patterns.

Required skills

• TypeScript, modern React, ES+, Next.js (v14+)
• PWA technologies: Service Workers, Cache API
• Capacitor (or equivalent hybrid runtime) and WebView/WKWebView constraints
• iOS development (Swift, Objective‑C) and Android development (Kotlin, Java)
• Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) integration
• Git, Yarn, NPM, Node.js
• Preact Signals (or comparable state management)
• Web Crypto APIs for encrypted‑at‑rest storage
