Accountant

About the role

Mastercard is seeking an Accountant to maintain accurate financial records and ensure the integrity of accounting information. You will be responsible for journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, balance‑sheet and income‑statement schedules.
• Perform account reconciliations and month‑end close activities.
• Support external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Identify and suggest process improvements for financial reporting.
• Provide ad‑hoc analysis and reporting for business partners.
• Interact with stakeholders such as GBSC, internal audit, tax team and broader finance groups.

Required profile

• Finance or Accounting qualification (mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and internal control concepts.
• Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi‑functional, global finance team.
• Experience engaging with business partners and supporting audit processes.
