Manufacturing Design Engineer

About the role

The Manufacturing Design Engineer will bridge design and production, ensuring that industrial requirements are integrated early in the product development cycle. You will work closely with engineering, supply chain and production teams to deliver manufacturable solutions that meet safety, quality and cost targets.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate on Co‑Design/Co‑Indus activities to embed manufacturing needs throughout all design phases.
• Define build processes, calculate operation times and manage technical sequencing.
• Specify and validate industrial assets such as jigs, tools, tooling and machines.
• Lead first‑article installation, establish feedback loops with the shop floor and ensure production hand‑over readiness.
• Maintain configuration management, particularly Delta 2, and produce the integrated Manufacturing Dossier.
• Create and update routings, Bills of Material and Standard Operating Instructions aligned with shop‑floor requirements.
• Execute and support PFMEA/FMEA, standard work, and standard time values.
• Participate in quality control boards, provide measurement tasks and secure capability processes.
• Support supply‑chain data consistency, manage missing‑part and stock impacts, and consider health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives, CAPEX budgeting and Run@Rate activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in collaborative design‑to‑manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of industrial asset specification and build‑process definition.
• Familiarity with configuration management systems (Delta 2).
• Ability to work across national and international cross‑skilled teams.
