Packing Engineer – Manufacturing Efficiency & Logistics

About the role

The Packing Engineer is responsible for improving manufacturing efficiency, reducing costs, enhancing product quality, and ensuring worker safety through analysis of current and new methods, technologies, and cost‑reduction activities within logistics and production areas.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate worker productivity and recommend improvements to increase labor efficiency and reduce waste.
• Develop performance indicators to measure plant and equipment capacity and identify bottlenecks.
• Lead Kaizen projects from selection and planning through execution and reporting.
• Develop and maintain logistics standards, layouts, tugger routes, and packaging parameters.
• Collaborate with the Central Supply Chain Design team on part and delivery specifications.
• Work with suppliers to implement lean material flow and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Standardize procedures and metrics across North American warehouses.
• Improve parts flow using Value Stream Mapping and JIT delivery concepts.
• Manage visual management systems for warehouses, kitting areas, and picking zones.
• Oversee design, build, and implementation of returnable racking and supply packaging compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Prior experience with SAP/EWM systems.
• Experience in logistical workflows and supply‑chain processes.
• Proven ability to perform troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
