Plant Manager – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

A leading consumer packaged goods manufacturer is seeking a hands‑on Plant Manager to lead all operations of its Tijuana facility. Reporting to the COO, the role is focused on floor‑level leadership, driving production output, quality, and on‑time delivery for a workforce of over 1,500 employees.

Key responsibilities

• Champion plant safety, hygiene, and environmental compliance while ensuring adherence to GMP, FDA, ISO and other regulatory standards.
• Maintain a visible presence on the production floor, directly observing, engaging with teams and solving problems in real time.
• Drive output, quality and delivery performance, allocating resources, eliminating bottlenecks and increasing capacity.
• Develop and execute a structured talent development plan for supervisors and department leads, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Own the operational P&L, control costs, and ensure financial accountability for the plant.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale manufacturing operations, preferably in a consumer packaged goods environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work directly on the shop floor and influence teams through hands‑on leadership.
• Strong track record of building high‑performing teams, coaching supervisors and reducing turnover.
• Experience managing safety, quality and regulatory compliance programs.

Required skills

• Knowledge of GMP, FDA, ISO standards and audit preparation.
• Understanding of production planning, scheduling, engineering, maintenance and logistics processes.
• Financial acumen to manage an operational P&L.
