Procurement Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Direct Material Purchasing Specialist to develop and execute sourcing strategies, drive cost‑saving initiatives, and ensure optimal performance of our supply chain for automotive sensor components. The role supports the Materials Planning department and contributes to supplier development and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and track purchase orders.
• Resolve invoice price discrepancies.
• Create and execute sourcing strategies aligned with cost‑saving goals.
• Analyze financial risks within the supply chain and propose mitigation actions.
• Identify and lead cost‑saving projects such as negotiations, value engineering, and value analysis.
• Support Materials Planning during critical supply escalations.
• Measure and improve supplier performance using scorecards.
• Develop suppliers and implement Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs.
• Maintain vendor information in the ERP system.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent experience as Buyer, Commodity Specialist, or Sourcing Specialist.
• Minimum three years of experience in a similar procurement role.
• Fluent spoken English.
• Strong negotiation abilities and a client‑care orientation.
• Team‑player, self‑driven, and responsible.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
