Senior Backend Engineer – Public API (Remote, LATAM)

About the role

Hopper Technology Solutions is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and operate a public API that enables partners to create world‑class travel portals. This fully remote position focuses on delivering high‑quality features quickly while collaborating with a small, high‑performing team of engineers, designers, and product managers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain a public API for partner integrations.
• Work autonomously while staying tightly aligned with engineers, designers, and product managers.
• Identify and implement engineering improvements for the team and product.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, other Hopper teams, and external partners.
• Operate in an environment with minimal meetings, emphasizing asynchronous decision‑making.

Required profile

• Strong drive to dive into unfamiliar codebases and deliver results rapidly.
• Product‑focused mindset with quality measured by customer impact.
• Experience building, documenting, and operating public APIs.
• Willingness to learn or experience with distributed system development in Scala.
