Senior PLC Programmer – Automotive Automation

About the role

We are looking for a Senior PLC Programmer to join our engineering team, working on automated welding and assembly lines for the automotive industry. The role involves designing, programming, and commissioning PLC systems for projects in Mexico and Spain, with travel to client sites in the USA and Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement PLC programs according to project specifications.
• Load and test PLC programs on‑site and support commissioning activities.
• Conduct debugging, troubleshooting and regular maintenance of PLC systems.
• Collaborate with robot programmers, engineers and technicians to deliver automation solutions.
• Create documentation, training manuals and provide technical support.
• Lead a team of programmers and ensure best practices are followed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in PLC programming, preferably in the automotive sector.
• Intermediate English proficiency and willingness to travel internationally.
• Valid passport and visa for travel to the United States.

• Ladder Logic programming.
• Structured Text programming.
• Rockwell Automation RS Logix and RS Studio.
• Siemens TIA Portal.
• Knowledge of industrial protocols such as EtherNet/IP.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
