Senior Tax Specialist – Income Tax & VAT Compliance

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Specialist to join Mauser Packaging Solutions through Grupo Zapata. The role focuses on income tax compliance, VAT reporting, and strategic tax planning to ensure adherence to local and international regulations while optimizing the company’s financial processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file tax payments on time to avoid fines and surcharges.
• Monitor tax obligations related to offsets, credits, and profit coefficient calculations.
• Execute tax planning actions defined by the Tax Department to improve cash flow and financial reporting.
• Compile working papers for the annual Income Tax return and verify deductible items meet legal requirements.
• Coordinate salary tax calculations and conduct random tests for correct withholding.
• Review monthly VAT payments, including creditable VAT and import VAT, to prevent over‑payment.
• Support external auditors and respond to tax authority inquiries.
• Assist in VAT refund requests and corporate restructuring projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience in income tax compliance, VAT, and tax planning.
• Strong knowledge of Mexican tax law and international tax regulations.
• Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors.
• Detail‑oriented with solid analytical and problem‑solving skills.
