Advanced PLC Engineer I

About the role

Bosch is looking for an Advanced PLC Engineer I in Juarez, responsible for developing, implementing, validating and commissioning automation software for manufacturing and special machine projects. The engineer acts as technical owner of the software deliverables while supporting project coordination, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, engineering standards, quality processes and project milestones.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, debug and maintain PLC and automation software according to project specifications and Bosch standards.
• Take part in concept reviews, electrical design reviews and definition of automation solutions.
• Define I/O structures, communication interfaces, machine sequences and software architectures.
• Perform software validation, functional testing, commissioning, startup and troubleshooting.
• Support machine acceptance, pre-acceptance and customer buy-off.
• Manage software version control, backups and project documentation.
• Support MES integrations, communication networks and digital manufacturing solutions when applicable.
• Track and resolve software-related issues and open points throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in industrial automation and PLC programming.
• Experience in machine commissioning and manufacturing environments.
• Experience coordinating software activities or technical work packages is desirable.
• Ability to work in cross-functional and international teams, with strong communication and documentation skills.

Required skills

• PLC programming with Beckhoff, Allen-Bradley and Siemens.
• HMI and SCADA development.
• Industrial communication protocols such as Profinet, Ethernet/IP, OPC-UA and Modbus.
• Interpretation of electrical schematics and software troubleshooting.
• Version control and software documentation practices.
• Knowledge of MES integration and Industry 4.0 concepts is a plus.
