Automotive HW Test Engineer

About the role

The Automotive HW Test Engineer will design and maintain end‑of‑line production test protocols for electronic control units (ECUs) used in automotive applications. Working closely with global engineering teams and local manufacturing plants, the role focuses on improving test methods, reducing failure rates, and ensuring product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and audit project‑specific production test specifications for customer ECU projects.
• Create and maintain test lists for validation and update all test documentation.
• Introduce change requests driven by test engineering findings.
• Support production test engineers with specification queries and end‑of‑line tester issues.
• Communicate technical problems and updates to project teams and validate changes.
• Analyze failures, perform root‑cause analysis, and support quality claims for customers.
• Drive continuous improvement of test protocols based on KPIs such as FPY and OTD.

Required profile

• Technical expertise in ECU diagnosis and standard test equipment.
• Experience with engineering requirements management and test coverage analysis.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, including root‑cause failure analysis.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with product engineering and manufacturing plants.
• Good communication skills and ability to document technical information clearly.
