Buyer – Manufacturing Site, Querétaro

About the role

Abbott is establishing its first health‑manufacturing facility in Querétaro and is looking for a Buyer to support the production operation. The role ensures that all materials, parts, components, services and supplies are sourced at competitive prices, meet quality standards and are delivered on time.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare purchase orders based on MRP requirements and monitor delivery against PO commitments.
• Source and quote goods and services needed for production, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.
• Manage returns of damaged goods, arrange replacements or credits, and drive corrective actions with suppliers and SQE.
• Plan and schedule deliveries to optimise inventory and minimise shortages.
• Maintain the supplier database (ASL) and support supplier evaluation and management.
• Coordinate import logistics under the maquila scheme with customs agents and the logistics department.
• Communicate clearly with suppliers via phone, email or other channels.

Required profile

• Degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of purchasing experience in automotive, manufacturing or medical industries.
• Proven experience in both direct and indirect procurement, supplier selection and bidding processes.
• Strong command of English.
