Buyer – Supply Chain & Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Buyer will manage the supply chain of raw materials needed for plant production, ensuring timely delivery, compliance with company policies, and optimal inventory levels. This position works closely with suppliers, the Quality department, and internal teams to keep production running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Create and manage purchase orders, confirming supplier delivery dates.
• Execute MRP actions (pull‑in, push‑out, cancellations) through supplier negotiation.
• Monitor supplier commitments and expedite shipments to avoid shortages or downtime.
• Analyze excess and obsolete inventory and implement reduction strategies.
• Maintain accurate data in the ERP system for items and purchase orders.
• Release invoices for payment and ensure on‑time payment metrics are met.
• Collaborate with Quality to resolve supplier issues and drive continuous improvement (cost, MOQ, MPQ, lead time).
• Track materials from shipment through receipt and invoice payment.
• Participate in EHS programs and report unsafe conditions immediately.
• Develop at least two Kaizen ideas and two productivity projects each year.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Industrial Engineering, International Business or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain.
• Strong problem‑solving, strategic thinking and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent organization, accountability and communication skills.
• English proficiency (written and spoken) of 80% or higher.
