Communications Assistant

About the role

EMpower, a global philanthropic organisation focused on marginalised youth, is looking for a Communications Assistant to help shape its story and engage supporters worldwide. The role sits at the crossroads of Global Communications, Development, and Programme teams, turning complex impact data into clear, compelling narratives for donors, partners and the public.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Institutional Partnerships Officer to gather validated data and translate it into impact stories and donor‑facing materials.
• Repurpose existing content for multiple channels, ensuring consistency with EMpower’s brand guidelines.
• Produce and edit communications for fundraising campaigns, partner updates and external publications.
• Work with regional fundraising teams to tailor messages for specific geographic and cultural audiences.
• Maintain a high‑quality, consistent external voice across all regions and platforms.
• Support the Director of Global Communications and senior communications staff in day‑to‑day tasks.

Required profile

• Excellent written communication skills with a talent for storytelling.
• Strong interest in international development and philanthropy.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a globally distributed team.
• Detail‑oriented and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
