Compliance Tax Specialist

About the role

The Compliance Tax Specialist will ensure accurate preparation and filing of tax forms for Colgate-Palmolive in Mexico. The role focuses on local tax compliance, income tax, anti‑money‑laundering reporting, and e‑invoicing advisory, helping the company meet regulatory requirements and reduce compliance risk.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare tax calculations, estimates and provisions for Income Tax and VAT, and ensure timely filing of federal, state and municipal taxes.
• Maintain tax balances on the general ledger for direct, indirect and withholding taxes, applying US GAAP and Mexican accounting standards.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors as needed.
• Ensure strict compliance with anti‑money‑laundering reporting and regulatory requirements.
• Act as internal expert on e‑invoicing (CFDIs), advising business units and ensuring adherence to local invoicing laws.
• Support tax audits, tax planning implementation and provide tax advice to various functions.
• Monitor legislative changes and industry trends, applying new laws to tax liabilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Public Accounting.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in tax compliance or in‑house tax counsel.
• In‑depth knowledge of Mexican tax laws, international tax principles and US GAAP.
• Advanced English proficiency.
