Controller – Finance Leader for Automotive Plant

About the role

Leggett & Platt is seeking a Controller to lead financial planning and reporting for its automotive branch/plant in Mexico. You will ensure accurate financial close, compliance, and support the company’s mission to deliver comfort systems worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the financial planning cycle, providing inputs and reviews for revenue, material, headcount, plant expenses, and working capital.
• Increase cost competitiveness and overall plant performance.
• Oversee full‑scope accounting and finance processes for the branch or collection of branches.
• Manage the financial close and reconciliation process, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure statutory reporting and tax requirements are met.
• Maintain internal controls and serve as lead for internal and external audit requirements.
• Act as primary liaison with Corporate Accounting for reporting needs.
• Develop, coach, and lead the local accounting and finance team.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field; professional designation (CMA, CPA) required; MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of finance and accounting experience in industrial manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Automotive industry experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial close, internal controls, audit management, GAAP/IFRS, taxation, treasury, working capital, payroll, cash‑flow management, costing and financial planning.
