Credit Specialist

About the role

The Credit Specialist supports accounts receivable and collection activities by monitoring outstanding customer balances, following up on overdue invoices and helping resolve payment issues. The role keeps accurate financial records, generates reports, answers customer questions and works with internal teams to ensure timely collections. It is based in Monterrey, Mexico, and is hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Handle collections and reconcile accounts on a monthly basis
• Identify customer disputes and overpayments, create journal entries and oversee offsetting of credits and debits
• Provide customer service on account receivable balances and dispute resolution
• Work with product sales, branch plants, field sales and service teams to resolve disputes
• Decide on payment arrangements for disputed items or write-offs
• Classify past-due accounts for monthly management reporting and recommend uncollectible items
• Verify the bad debt reserve file and maintain accurate system data in line with company policies
• Support financial audits and contribute to the work group's goals

Required profile

• 1 year of experience in accounts receivable, cash collections, order-to-cash or similar credit and collections functions
• Advanced to fluent English, written and spoken
• Preferred: Bachelor's or Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, International Trade or a related field
• Preferred: experience in shared services and an international environment, and SAP or other ERP experience

• Good communication skills and ability to work independently and meet deadlines
